Dienas grauds

vara bungas: Svētīga lasāmviela par jaunākajām tendencēm recce jomā četros turpinājumos visu līmeņu “divniekiem” un izlūkvadu komandieriem. RU autoru ( Colonel PhD Military Science Ye.

[..] It is necessary to state that the development of the technical basis and analysis of international combat engagement of reconnaissance units in modern armed conflicts allows promoting the combat potential of army reconnaissance without increasing its strength and introducing the latest effective methods of actions.

Firstly, improved technical provision makes reconnaissance units provide smaller reconnaissance teams with bigger quantity and quality, space and time capabilities. Experts believe that the implementation of the proposals will make a reconnaissance team fulfil the tasks of a classical reconnaissance detachment.

Secondly, the engagement of army reconnaissance in reconnaissance-fire and reconnaissance-strike forces makes it necessary to develop prospective combat methods for them, including those outlined in this article. It is no longer possible to ignore the trends in army reconnaissance, as they have acquired a clear shape and are broadly introduced into the combat practice of the leading world armies. It calls for urgent steps to develop the structure, composition and methods of army reconnaissance in compliance with modern trends. [..]

      • citur ātrāk, citur lēnāk, bet tāds ir progress. mūsdienu lone wolf uzbrucējam publiskajos avotos ir vairāk informācijas nekā CIP pirms 10-15 gadiem

        • Izskatās, ka pasaule iet uz digitālo dvīni, kur liela daļa no tā dvīņa būs publiska.
Paskatījos, ka igauņiem Amari bāzes teritorijā ēkām nav 3D modeļu.

          • Other bases are also left out. They know what they are doing. I’m quite sure that the EDF had some input before this was released.

              • Oh dear, you are right! What have we done! 😀

Actually, location of bases is already in the public domain. There is no way to hide such a thing. I can just as easily find Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian bases. In fact, I have looked at a fair number of military bases in EU in Google Maps. I have even counted the equipment on those bases. You just need to know what you’re looking for. What IS critical, is the location of ammunition warehouses, weapons etc. That is not public domain and never will be. There is a reason why public maps and certain photos are blurred.

                • So one will look for blurred locations and covered spots. I allways do. On map you cannot say which its part is altered, on models and satelite images it is obvious.

                  • Well, I can see some – ahem – ‘interesting’ infrastructure being built south of our 1st Brigades base. These aren’t your normal warehouses. I could bet a few euros that they will not contain boots and socks for soldiers. 😉
But the Russians probably already have much better images of the place. The true multi-million euro question is which warehouse contains what? Because these aren’t the only ones in the place.

      • I see no problem here. The models are very basic and not 100% accurate. Google Maps has a much more detailed 3D view in other countries. Also, military buildings are left out (I checked). This just makes it easier for the public (and especially architects) to navigate maps and envision new developments.
